Employment Opportunities

2012 Seasonal Job Openings

Colorado Fourteeners Initiative will have an expanded field presence in 2012. We are looking for 12 enthusiastic, hard-working seasonal staff leaders/members to complete these projects over the summer and early fall. Applicants must be available to work from late May/early June through late September/early October. Positions are open until filled, though preference in hiring will be given to applications received by Wednesday, March 29.

Eight experienced trail crew leaders are needed for:

  •  Backcountry basecamp crews operating on North Maroon Peak, San Luis Peak, and Mount of the Holy Cross. While each peak is unique in its location and the scope of work to be performed, all crew leaders will oversee both youth corps crews of 8-12 members and volunteer groups in reconstructing summit trails and performing revegetation work. Two leaders will be hired to work on each peak. 2012 Trail Project Leadership & Mgmt Positions.
  • Two mobile trail maintenance crews.  The two-person Adopt-a-Peak trail maintenance crew works on roughly 30 volunteer projects, usually on the highly impacted peaks in the Front, Tenmile/Mosquito, and Sawatch Ranges. The four-person Roving Backcountry trail maintenance crew will tackle around 10 longer, more involved trail maintenance projects on more remote peaks, usually working independently, though occasionally overseeing volunteer projects. 2012 Trail Project Leadership & Mgmt Positions
