Anxious to give back to the Fourteeners this summer? CFI is looking to find energetic, motivated individual volunteers to work on six Adopt-a-Peak volunteer projects this summer. Projects will tackle needed trail maintenance and alpine vegetation restoration on four peaks:
- Capitol Peak near Aspen
- Quandary Peak near Breckenridge
- Mount of the Holy Cross near Minturn, and
- Uncompahgre Peak near Lake City
Project dates, partners, and signup information for all projects are posted at on our 2012 Schedule. Most are multi-day projects that will be conducted from backcountry basecamps in some of the most sought-after wilderness destinations in Colorado. One is a single-day project at an accessible location in Summit County.
No special skills or fitness are required to work on these Adopt-a-Peak projects. If you are fit enough to hike a Fourteener, you’re probably fit enough to work on a trail project.
