onezy_2

It is not every day that you see a full-grown adult in a one-piece pajama suit with built-in booties on a 14,000-foot peak in the Colorado wilderness. Nor is it a frequent occurrence to actually know the person sporting it and have the opportunity to work with them. Not only once, but twice.

When one of the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps members asked me if he could work a day on the trail in his fleece one-zy, I immediately responded with an enthusiastic, “Yes!” I couldn’t really come up with any good reason as to why not.

The next morning Nick showed up in his bright red suit looking more comfortable, much warmer and of course more stylish than anyone on our crew. The guy didn’t even put on socks that morning, instead he just tucked his booties right into his hiking boots!

Nick worked all day the first time in the one-zy and enjoyed it so much wore it again on the following Wednesday. With little more intent than being comfortable and stylish at work, “One-zy Wednesday” was born. All it took was a young guy with some sweet pajamas and a positive outlook on life and… bam, you’ve got another reason to celebrate on Wednesdays!

So assuming you can even get your hands on a rare, adult-sized one-zy, consider giving it a try on your next Wednesday morning hike. Nick now swears by it.

Hey, my name is Tom Cronin. Originally from western New York I have been in Colorado on and off for about four and a half years. I first moved to Breckenridge in 2007 to pursue my passion for skiing. Since then I have found endless opportunities for outdoor recreation here in Colorado, and spend as much time outside as possible.
