During the last week of August students from Colorado College were nice enough to come out and volunteer with several CFI crews. All incoming freshman and transfer students they are required to participate in some sort of volunteer project for their new student orientation.

CFI had 83 students working on six different mountains for several days doing everything from building stairs and rock walls to transplanting plants and closing social trails. All together they volunteered over 1,000 cumulative hours with us and gained important knowledge and skills about trail work and mountain conservation. I had a great time with my crew and hope they did as well.

I should add that this Colorado College program was 2012’s Adopt-a-Peak partner of the year for their strong commitment to CFI’s work.
